About Yoga Ashram in India - Gurukul Yogashala

Gurukul Yogashala is a classic yoga school located in Rishikesh where Yoga Teacher Training and Yoga Retreats are being held. These events are recognized by Yoga Alliance as Yoga Teacher Training of 100 hours, 200 hours, and training up to 500 hours; we also provide specialized courses of 85-hour Prenatal Yoga TTC and 50-hour Yin Yoga TTC courses.

Taking its inspiration from the traditional Gurukul education system, Gurukul Yogashala believes in the ancient guru-shishya bond, wherein students reside with their Gurus and learn from their Gurus in the traditional way. This concept, which is rooted in the ancient Upanishads and Vedic philosophy, enables the students to practice learning in a family-like environment conducive to their overall personal and spiritual development.

At Gurukul Yogashala, they believe in keeping the essence of this tradition, but at the same time we also offer modernized, unique Yoga education to our students. It’s a place where a community exists that provides authentic wisdom and assists its students’ body and mind.

Yoga Retreat in India - Introduction

At Gurukal Yogashala, you can avail the best yoga retreat in the country that meets the needs of everyone from a beginner to the highly-skilled practitioner. Our sessions are full of healing and spiritual awareness, which enable a person not only to find themselves inside but also to disconnect from the outside world and experience rejuvenation.

Why should you join a Yoga Retreat in Rishikesh?

In today’s chaotic life, it is nearly impossible for people to be in touch with nature or have a chance to meet their inner selves. The burden of being the best at work and doing well in life has made it impossible to come in contact with one’s feelings; one cannot even understand those correctly.

Gurukul Yogashala and its 14-day yoga and meditation retreat in Rishikesh afford a rare chance for everyone to feel the advantages of rejuvenation and connect to their inner self.

It is a well-known fact that those who cut their connection with nature can face a lot of stress, which will negatively influence their body and mind.

If you experience any trouble with your well-being, don’t think twice and go to Rishikesh for a retreat organized by Gurukul Yogashala.

The 14-day holistic retreat of Gurukul Yogashala presents one of the top budget retreats in Rishikesh. The goal of the retreat is that the yoga approach is not very strenuous; the focus is on relaxation and meditation, so during the sessions you will be able to become more in touch with your inner self, nature, and with other like-minded participants of the retreat.

Benefits of the Retreat:

  • Contact with Nature and distancing from technology
  • Experience of traditional yogic living in an ashram
  • Surrounded by positive energy
  • Learning about yoga and its importance in your life
  • Participation in spiritual excursions around Rishikesh
  • Reconnecting with emotions

Curriculum

Yoga Sessions

The retreat will include two daily asana sessions, one of Hatha Yoga and another of Vinyasa Flow, and these sessions will provide you with movement of the body while establishing a connection between the body and the breath. The sessions will help you to relax and reconnect with yourself. The classes will suit beginners as well.

Yogic Cleansing

Yogic cleansing, or Shatkarma practices, is a set of cleansing practices that provide us with a clean nasal passage and allow us to breathe more easily and prepare ourselves for pranayama practices.

Pranayama Session

The pranayama sessions will help you to learn how to breathe properly and to get to know many different breathing techniques that will enable you not just to relieve stress during the retreat, but also after the retreat is over. These sessions will allow you to find the appropriate environment to disconnect from the outer world and meet your inner world.

Meditation Session

Throughout the duration of the retreat, there will be a daily meditation session that allows you to sit in comfort with yourself. Therefore, there will be enough time for you to recognize your feelings positively.

Tibetan Bowl Healing Session

We will organize a Tibetan Bowl Healing Session that lets you experience the positive energies coming from Tibetan bowls and leads you towards self-discovery. Through the healing energy of this unique activity, you will get to know about the healing qualities of the Tibetan bowls and relax in a unique manner.

Ayurvedic Therapies

The attendees of the retreat will benefit from two therapies offered by Gurukul Yogashala during the retreat that will help them feel relaxed and reenergized for returning to their everyday lives calmly. The therapies are:

Abhyanga Massage: Abhyanga is a type of full-body massage in Ayurveda in which the therapist applies warm oil on the entire body to calm the nervous system, promote lymphatic flow, and deeply nourish the skin

Shirodhara: It is a traditional treatment in which a steady stream of treated warm liquid is dripped on the forehead to help in relaxation, relieve internal nervousness, and promote better sleep at night.

Akshitarpan and Nasya: Both of these Ayurvedic treatments help in treating eye problems, making the eyes able to work with comfort, or clearing the upper respiratory tract.
